Cycling / Sector: In 2015, two World Tour teams will ride once again on Scott bikes: Orica GreenEdge and IAM Cycling. Let’s take a look at the extraordinary bikes that will get them through the season and hopefully help them reaching their goals.
The riders of Orica GreenEdge and IAM will have the choice between two bikes this season: There’s the aerodynamic Scott Foil which has set standards in the past and there’s Scott’s famous Addict, the lightweight racer that will surely be first choice when taking on steep and lengthy climbs.
With outstanding aerodynamics and its excellent stiffness, the Foil is the weapon of choice for all the sprinters. Despite its focus on good aerodynamics, the frame is still pretty light at only 890g.
Not only the pros will have the pleasure to ride the Foil in its Team Issue – by popular demand, Scott will introduce a team issue version of the bike to the market in 2015. It will come as IAM Cycling Replica – it’s a beauty, don’t you think?
The Scott Addict is an almost legendary bike: It has been and is still one of the lightest bikes available: The frame and the fork come at 790g / 300g – still pretty impressive. The Addict is the bike of choice when the mountains want to be tackled and you don’t want to carry up only one gram too much.
Like the Foil, the Addict will also come as a Team Issue in 2015. Of course, without the limits of the UCI (min. weight 6,8kg), it will be even lighter than the pro bike. The top model which will be available as Orica GreenEdge Replica and is equipped with Shimano’s Di2 weighs only 6,28kg.
