COBI: Connected Bike made in Germany

Sector: Just over a week ago, the Kickstarter Campaign for COBI, a Connected Bike system made in Germany was launched. After less than 4 days, they had already reached their goal of collecting $100.000 and now have the opportunity to include even more features. But what is COBI?

COBI brings the idea of bike-smartphone-integration to a new level. The main unit is mounted onto your handlebar and features an integrated LED light whose brightness is adjusted depending on how bright it is around you. The thumb remote control is also mounted on your bars and will enable you to control your phone without even having to use the touchscreen.

More features making use of the smartphone integration are:

  • Rearlight with braking light
  • GPS Navigation right in front of you
  • Theft alarm
  • much more…

Most of the features are presented in the video featured on the Kickstarter site of the project.

COBI is set to launch in the second quarter of 2015 and we’re excited to watch the project develop. For more information and pre-orders, you should check out COBI’s Kickstarter.
